Easter: What Makes This Friday So Good?

Good Friday!

Have you ever considered the first word redefining this concept or term?

What exactly makes this day so worthy of the title, Good?

Certainly not because an innocent man received a miscarriage of justice on a roman cross. Well, not in and of itself.

This simply underscores how God often goes about His business. It should be no surprise He had a greater point and goal in justifying the Good Friday of it all. And as we give this time—in fact, only a matter of days—we see the cross was never the end of the story, but the means of making for an even grander conclusion.

Still, don’t miss the importance of the means on this Friday, because without the shedding of blood there could be no remission of sin, according to Leviticus 17:11. Humanity had an incalculable debt, with no possible way to make good.

But God was never cornered by the snake in the Garden. And proof-positive was on its way that the seed of the woman would be the exclamation point.

In light, when God says He is working all things together for good as you’re stuck in lockdown through a global pandemic in the 2020 Easter season, consider the grander purpose of this time, through the deeper goodness that this Friday proves, and celebrate the promise of Calvary’s redemption for His children’s forever future, irrefutably proven through an Empty Tomb.
