BackingBlack: All Blacks Official Fan Club

For a Kiwi, the All Blacks largely represent our most successful cultural witness onto a world stage. While there is plenty of narrative-myth added to their playing history and legacy, from a sporting perspective, their long-term prolific culture and outstanding success remains sportingly, second-to-none. This simply raises the widely-held esteem. This also explains their growing appeal into other locations than a Rugby Union stronghold. Because the players willingly buy into a larger story than their own, they freely become subsumed for the overall good, which translates into selfless displays for the sporting glory of the Black Jersey and Silver Fern. If you become associated with the brand, in whatever shape or form, this translation will likely be positive. My historic association is there for any who can see. I am not sure this can, or will, be topped in a sporting media sense. As the one-time, Resident Scribe, of their-then Official Fan Club, it was as if you-yourself were tasked with writing on their behalf. Stand-bearer. There is some advocate connection working beneath. This period would also coincide with the All Blacks elevation through the World Cup event, which had dogged them like a pussycat; not very successfully. 2011 would, therefore, prove particularly special. Although one could easily conclude this is a writing ride for life, the 2013 closure did intersect with my growing compulsion to put something down; reflective of the pursuit in this RELOVUTIONARY Philosophy. It would only be a matter of weeks, I believe, post the Telco’s final pulling of their plug, before I began this written journey. And we all know that God has better timing than a Christian Cullen into the Backline, and has the only unmatched, perfect winning record, of all time.

RIP.

Blog in. Blog out. Over one-hundred-and-twenty in total. The time is approaching when you will be able to read the content of these once again, but you must stay connected to know when. Just more encouragement to Subscribe. Like you needed any.

This was one of the very last pieces I would write.

If you know this history, it is appropriately poignant that it was on the man, Richie McCaw.

McCawesomeness!
