There is a real living sense that if you are always on the bigger, brighter, better, hunt; you will never be bigger, brighter, better, enough.
The result can be restlessness and lack of contentment in the Gospel, while the too-often cause hidden-from-plain-sight, is the insidious self-salvation-pride-project, which tends to wear the most effective mask from its owner, as it progressively eats out your insides.
This relentless mind-and-life-set can appear positively like passion and radically look like zeal, but will result in the wrong type of heartbreak periodically.
The solution is to rest in the God-giving, Jesus-finishing, grace-entirely-Gospel-operating-system as your completed identity, and let the rest of life, fall forward, become of His always-for-your-good sovereignty, applied to you personally
I have been here; there, and too often, still are.

I wrote these on my phone this morning, in the place of one’s nightly normative resting pose, after one of those “interesting” health phases, shall we say. And I just did.
At such times, and with all the ardor expressed about future plans on this platform, which well up onto life’s surface, I am reminded, and therefore challenged, by the way I am holding onto these hopes and dreams, when God-through-life confirms, I really can not make it happen.
And if this continues, does life still make sense?
The right answer ultimately is, in Christ – YES. The harder part is believing with more than words.
Whatever differences in the details of each of our storied lives, the well-worn paths are generally the same throughout humanity, which is one reason why the Bible can speak across and into any human identity construction.
Make sure you stay at home, even when, at a temporal level, you mostly spend all of your waking in other locales.
And if you feel, or are, presently lost, this intended-to-be-short read may be His providential way of confirming He has got you; substantiated through the proof of the Cross, while temporally validated in this transitory right-now-reading-reminder of what exclusively defines the real you into eternity.
Stay rested in the Gospel to keep running into Life.
It really only works this way.
You cannot reverse engineer.
